African King and Queen

So Imperfect, but, Perfectly in Love

Dear 2013,
We haven't met yet, but we are optimistic, proud, confident that you will be full of success intertwined

with more love, more love and more love.

In a few hours, we'll get to meet each other. We're not nervous at all, never that, however, the feeling

butterflies in our stomach- yeah you can say that

It would be love at first sight

For now we reflect tonight

2013
You will overcome all the flaws of 2012, and yield more blessings to the ones from 2012.

You will bring happiness to the broken hearted, more joy to the sorrow, more peace, love and harmony

to the war stricken

2013
Become any solid rock in our Lives
Become any mountain to overcome
Become all you can in God's image
Become Love for all

Good friendships are original in all contexts.

Great friendships last beyond a lifetime, and springs the positive outcomes of life, and embrace the tragedies with positive reassurances.  In good friendships, friends become families, and common good lives on.

Good friendships are heavenly and natured in good faith.

I tend to have overused good, therefore, I switch to great. Great friendships are worthy to be cherished. The friend that you lean on in times of hardships, and the one share your great moments in life with.

How do you know if a friendship is  a good/great one? It's unquestionable that the one you perceive as family, who's always a smiles away irrespective of how far they are away from you, or what you might be going through- thought of one? I've thought of some as well.

You happen to be one.
We might not know each other, but we do now in good Christian faith of "Godliness.

Pray for great friendships.
We wouldn't have made it this far if God hadn't put the right friendships in our lives...

Amen to our Love

We just saw Django unchained and Flight

We loved it, shocked initially at the language, and felt a little uneasy hearing "nigger this- nigger that"- definitely wouldn't take my kid to see this movie. Very violently graphic- Tarantino style.  Aside that, the storyline was great and easily draws in the audience.

Jamie Fox was an outstanding actor, and Kerry Washington played her part well. Samuel L Jackson- was himself- an extraordinary cast, and shed light on repatriation.

Flight with Denzel and Cheadle was a great pick as well- thanks Babe. Adrenalin was high on the plane to the point that you  feel the cry for help from the passengers before crashing. Denzel's alcoholic tendencies / addiction  will drive you nuts, overall, the movie was great and has a quite remarkable ending.

Good times at the movies.

Amen to Our Love

Imagine breakfast in bed when you least expected it

Imagine breakfast in bed so often a time, but each time is as good as the first....

Live it...Love it...

Breakfast bed has a collective meaning.  After a good, I mean a really good night sleep (with heartfelt

snores mixed with drool's) you wake up to the one and only one you share you love with- feels good.

Not just that, a beautiful white smile, a minty breath, and a smell of mint tea with honey, not forgetting

the the shrill from the fresh omelet with avocado, tomatoes, basil and a tough of lettuce.........Yeah that's

a set up for more loving....

Just Love.
Love with all that you've got, Love inside out, outside in, to ad fro- love always
After all, what do you loose from Loving someone who loves you?
You gain a peace of mind, and you loose nothing.

I forgot about the Jazz in the background, Andrea Bocelli at night, and warm winter cuddles.

Year after year we make resolutions, some years are fulfilled, others are not. For a structured procrastinator like Dennis, making resolutions is on a daily basis, some are accomplished without initiating, some totally and unintentionally forgotten.

Well, 2013 is just around the corner, and we know it's going to be a remarkably amazing year- I salivate, and burst into smiles as I write this

It feels good to be in Love
It feels good to be Loved
It feels great to Love

Amen

A Much needed for vacation full of Love, Love, and Love

Our First Vacation together, We left all of life hustle and Bustle Behind

Loved every second of it; Slept our hearts and Minds out; Peace, perfect peace

The Ocean was patient, Warm, Kind, Welcoming, and so were the fish that swarm by our feet

We laughed, and enjoyed the tours to the beautiful and colorful island filled with nature

At night, we danced, and enjoyed the arts and culture

The food "Twin Brother's" was AMAZING

We kissed and kissed and kissed, and still kissing memories from Nassau

Wow! Are we really telling the world how we feel about our love life? Putting it all out there? Making it known to the world? Guess what? It's happening right here at www.africankingandqueen.com

We are King and Queen- not to be boastful, but to shed light on how we treat each other.

We're happy. We're humble. We're blessed. We're loved. And much more, therefore we write from the love within.

Love is real, Love is Pure. Sharing a gist of our love life is inspiring- the feelings are genuine- for these reasons, we blog with no negative connotations. We've always wanted to write to inspire. We've always wanted to write with a smile, and we're grateful to God for being able to.

Thanks for all the traffic on our blog, and trust that we will continue to keep you inspired and trust our honesty and sincerity.

Amen!

Patience is virtue.

We always want to live the most of everyday, and we do understand there's tomorrow, and the day

after, and after, however, making the best out of everyday. We work 12 hour shifts, and

believe or not, we definitely want to squeeze in a dinner date.

By being patient, we don't miss a beat: we get to appreciate all the little things in life, and ignore the

little things that could instigate relationship turmoil.

Every opportunity to spend time together is an opportunity for love, those moments and memories we

cherish so much.

I love coming home either to a smile or to a "sound sleeping" Lilian :) I never mentioned occasional

"snore"

Our love is God sent, and we love a day-at-a-time, and aspire to love more and more each day.

Amen!

This is a biggie.
Communicating effectively and deciphering assumptions can be nail-bitingly cumbersome in relations. We talk a lot, and do as much as possible to avoid making assumptions.

We've made a lifetime commitment to each other, I know it sounds like a project- but it's an intriguing adventure. We meet each other's needs and understand how we would want to feel - therefore, I know what ever Lilian says she does is in the interest of our love, likewise what ever I do I make sure I relay my words with honey.

Communication is definitely key to a lifelong commitment There's always room to express views/opinions. The best part of developing effective communicating is to have a slower tongue and grow rabbit ears- listen more and sloth your word in honey not vinegar.

Our parents were not born with silver spoons in their mouths or born in the land of milk and honey, but the foundation of faith and prayer is what has made us who we are today. Lessons of reassurance and motivation from our parents has helped us overcome life challenges.

My father, man, I admire him so much, and I love him. From childhood, pops has always been my role model, he's humble, determined, dedicated, and much more ; amongst all,  his love for my mother and brothers mixed with Spiritual doctrines have cooked us all into good and humble people.

My mom, love her. She's angel. She's our all and all. Love you mama.

We prayed always and didn't miss Sunday school. The messages from Church believe it or not, has lived on. It's has been an amazing parenting style that has held their marriage strong as well. During challenging times, giving up has never been an option, and believing on a positive outcome has become a norm.

Thank God for our parents.
Amen God Has Blessed Our Love

Hand-in-Hand
When I was single and I'd see couples walking holding each other hand in hand, smiling, laughing, playfully kissing, as they walk at parks in the summer or cuddle up after dining in the winter and fall months- all these used to amaze me- the euphoric affect was heavenly I would imagine. I used to sigh and dream of all the things I would do for that kind of happiness.
Fast forward to now- I'm blessed with all that happiness and much more, everyday is an opportunity to love, understand each other, and work together. I beat myself with perfection, and I'm constantly reminded to let things be... For the single ones reading, relationships are not always like fairy tales :(
There are times of misunderstands, where we have difference in opinions, but what makes us overcome are the reflections on the positive overall outcomes. Something I learn each day, optimism is key, and success is the overall outcome, it takes two hearts to beat pessimism.
The reality is no two persons are the same, but love overcomes all. Love is respect love kind love is not angry and love doesn't ignore, love heals all wounds.
Amen!

This year I will give the most to people, this year by far will be the best Christmas in regards to what i give- rather than receive
....yep! Call me the real Santa. Everyone will get the true me, the kind, humble, giving Dennis. All year I have thought of all of you, and I'm blessed to have you all in my life. I have you in my prayers and thoughts daily, I appreciate all the love and compassion, and the moments when you have gone beyond all means to meet my needs.
For these infinite reasons, I give you my presence this Christmas, the tightest hug and kiss from all the corners of my heart

The look of surprise; my Queen took me to National Harbor this summer 2012, it was a great trip, and I enjoyed every single bit of it. The food was great, her company was heavenly as usual. We spent time talking about facing the challenges in life, and becoming positive role models, and well in tune with Love and Happiness.

I have seen so many pictures taken like this; therefore as silly as I am and can be, I chose the best location among all places :) to take this picture smh. Well from this angle it came out just ok- I love it.
I love this.......

Leaving for church; beautiful day, some rain drizzling out, but we intentionally ignored the coats so we can lightly soak with nature- silliness is genetic

Yellow, burgandy-ish pink, so hot. The Queen herself as usual, looking ravishing and resplendent. Amazingly well coordinated with a breathtaking smile and gorgeous persona

Stepping out pavement style. She would have posed if she knew I was taking a picture of her, this came out great, I love taking un-posed pictures- they bring out the true essence of photography....I love this. Silliness is Genetic

We took this picture on our second date. We saw Fela in NYC- had a great time. We share so  many great moments, moments so true and pure; filled with joy and harmony.  We pray for God's blessings continually. We live each day and aspire to love more, kiss more, smile more, and hold and care more...It's healthy, and it enriches our hearts and minds.

Loving each other, is our lifetime dedication.

Amen!!!
