African King and Queen

So Imperfect, but, Perfectly in Love

So, there are many tales of this beautiful and majestic city of Venice.
Before heading to Venezia, we had heard of all the splendor and seen great pictures, but tell you what, this is the only place that has wowed us both on arrival. We were speechless, stunned, and thought we were in a movie. It's surreal. Still speechless as we blog about it.
It's magnificent, amazing, unbelievable, sorry believable, and  it's almost like a good dream, or a great fantasy become reality. We guess for the rest of this post, we'll focus on adverbs to really magnify the beauty of Venezia. Beautifully gorgeous, Venice is certainly a place to visit, preferably with a loved one, because immersed in all the glamour, are multiple avenues of self expression and endless romance. We hope you got the point. You can read the last sentence slow-ly......we saw a lot of LOoooove.................

A common hurdle to foreign travel is language barrier, however, we've learned that tourism serves as a pulsitile form of revenue for most countries, therefore, most countries provide multiple information booths or locations, and we've found this to be very helpful. We can't say the same for Paris, France- just kidding. The information provided on arrival was helpful enough to get us to our hotel.

Enjoy the picturessssss......

We have seen images of the Trevi fountain and read about it. As well as the Spanish steps. It was exciting to be seeing it, we kept on saying to one another. We must apologize for not stressing the significance of Jordan assisting us to venture these sights, him and his family were and continue to be the pivot of such a successful trip, and we cannot thank them enough-Thank you, ye daase.

En-route were cable stones, historic buildings, fine restaurants, and gift shops. The streets were less noisy as compared to the day, yet the scooters, weaved through traffic and the fiats and alpha romeo's stitched their tires well as they maneuvered through traffic. It was approximately a 15 minute zig-zagging walk, and sigh we arrived..............

No bright lights, no fountain of water, no tossing of coins for good luck, no fireworks... uncertainly disappointed, it was under renovation/restructuring...sad face was the least of our emotional state, but, we stayed humble and enjoyed the moment, we had seen it, not in the shape we expected it to be in, but, we've enjoyed the moment, and continued our quest through Roma..............

Next to the Spanish Steps

We boarded the train to Termini station and headed to the Colosseo; it had gotten darker as the night neared, but weather was still cozy, Roma seemed busy and filled with curious tourists, commuters and natives. We stopped by a nearby stand for cappuccino and across the street stood the blueprint of stadiums worldwide- the Colosseum.

So beautiful, so grand and majestic; we wondered what the walls would say if they spoke. The street lights wholeheartedly shared all of its bright lights towards it, this enhanced its magnificence at night.

There were fences so we couldn't enter, what a day of "cannot enter", yet, we gracefully enjoyed the outside views. We snapped and snapped pictures till we exhausted all possible geometric angles and silly posses. Numerous times, we would just pause and enjoy the view, and admire the architecture.

Across the street was a nice Italian restaurant, and the aroma it diffused was so enticing we had to pray to fight it's temptation, because we knew well that we had dinner anxiously waiting............
Overall, it was such a calming experience, and to think about the engineering and manpower involved,  how long it had withstood nature, impressive is an understatement. Some reinforcements were in progress as well, there were small fences around the right entrances: and, it looked dark inside, and the darker it looked, the more curious we got.

For one night, on a first day to Roma, we had seen significant historic sites, sites relevant  to western civilization, yet we hungered for more. This moment was so captivating, and immersed in a honeymoon celebration, a birthday and a european tour; humbling.

Next, we headed best to Fontana di Trevi.....We could see and endless night.

It's almost a sin if you live this lifetime without visiting Roma, Italy; maybe less of a sin, to soothe a positive vibe. Go to Rome......its the capital of Italy, with approximately less than 3 million, that sounds like lots of wine, and good food, and culture in one city. Roma is cited as the oldest cities in Europe. Visit Roma and you will learn so much about art, history, religion, culture, you will eat so well, and meet a vibrant and diverse array of people on your quest, or meet natives who know little to no English, and will force you to clinge on more to your translator apps; google has a good one by the way.

Why did we go to Roma, Italy? Ci piacciamo, la bella Italia.
Luckily we have family there, so navigating there was less cumbersome, and the amazing family support system is close to heaven.  We had breakfast, so filling, so soothing, we then settled in, talked for a while and took our first nap.

We woke up to delicious smell of lasagna. We couldn't calm our claws to eat, and to so much joy we heard, lunch was ready, hammy. Calmly, and with an open stomach and eager taste buds, we engulfed the delicious lasagna and some vino bianco (pinot grigio) , it was so good we could barely stay awake, all this mixed in the getting used to the time difference, was quite a hurdle. We took a power nap, and then headed to the Vatican City, (see pictures below), it was closed, but we enjoyed great picture taking, and the exterior genuineness in architecture and art. Its sits so confidently, and very well catered for and guarded by Swiss guards.

It's important that we do not omit the relevance of Roma as a religious significance to the Italian people, and world as a whole, and more importantly to Christianity. Even though it was closed to public during the evening hours we got there, there were other curious people from all walks of life who enjoyed the gainfully architecture.

The mood on the first day we visited Roma was elevated, it was our birthdayyyyyyyy!! We continue to give God thanks, always humbled by his mercies.

There has always been something new in our lives by His grace.  Back to Roma. As we left the Vatican, we saw opened stores, small shops, pizzerias, and meekly crowded people,as they all geared to exist this historic site. We walked with fish eyes, and snapped and snapped and snapped.....We love our cannon t4i camera so much, its a good start-up camera, and best buy has great
deals, we highly recommend it.

After the walking around and window shopping, we boarded the train and headed to the Colosseo.

Thank you for reading, to be continued......
